Garden Patch Farm CSA Newsletter #4

August 2, 2005

Hello CSA Members,

It's great to hear that you are experimenting with new recipes using the produce you are getting from our farm. We're glad you are enjoying the harvest!

Just a reminder: If you need to come the alternate pick up day, please let us know by email or phone at least a couple days ahead. This is because we pick the produce according to how many shares we are expecting that particular day. Thank you!

*"One United Harvest" cookbook. It is a collection of recipes from many CSA farms from across the US. They are $16.00 each total. We have a sign-up sheet you can add your name to for ordering. We will order the quantity obtained on the sheet along with some extras.

Help on the farm--if any of you would like to weed the flower bed when you come out, that would be very helpful. Even if you pulled a few weeds while you are cutting flowers, that would be fantastic! While most CSA farms have a work requirement, we do not. But some of you have had your name added to our volunteer work list so this weeding is an area we could use the help. It benefits all members belonging to Garden Patch Farm, including yourself because the flowers will grow better. Thank you.

Please be careful and watch for pedestrians and other vehicles as you enter and leave our driveway--drive slowly and be prepared to stop. Thank you!

SUMMER STORM
Gardeners never have to listen
to weather forecasts---
they know that as soon
as they start work in their garden
it will rain.
