PERSONAL CARE & HOUSEHOLD PRODUCTS WE AVOID
This is a list of toxic personal care products that we cannot tolerate near us because they make us ill. Additionally, we have found that they are not tolerated by our seedlings. Therefore, when working with us we ask that you avoid these products. We appreciate your understanding. Thank you.
Important note: because Tim and I have done what we can to avoid toxins in our home and on our bodies, we are healthier than we used to be. We have pretty well eliminated regular headaches, body aches, "fuzzy thinking" and the like. It is our hope that you will find a way to avoid these killer toxins in your home and on your body. It is also our hope that you are aware of what you are using to clean with, to groom with, to care for your children with and what you apply to your lawn. Good health to you!

NON-TOXIC ALTERNATIVES:
Vinegar, borax and baking soda for household cleaning
Peroxide for disinfectant
Witch hazel for "aftershave" (Aftershave was originally meant to be used for men to avoid infection after shaving. Witch hazel does the trick beautifully. Tim has been using it for years, and it's much cheaper!)
There are many alternatives to the hairsprays, hair gels, soaps, baby wipes, laundry detergents and such in the health food stores now--unscented even.
Deodorant: crystal rock, found in your health food store
"Fabric Softener": a bit of vinegar or baking soda in your wash
Sun blocks: we have yet to find any we agree with, or can truly tolerate on our own skin. Tim and I have not used it in years...but if I burn a bit, I use my aloe plant. We are open to suggestions if you have any.
Insect repellant: we do not use anything...haven't found any that agree with our skin. We are open to suggestions.
Perfumes: who needs these? If we are clean and well-groomed, isn't that enough to be attractive? Better yet, how about we take the time and resources we spend on perfumes and put it toward learning how to be kinder individuals--the type of person folks are naturally attracted to! (Originally, perfume was developed to attract the opposite sex).
